So, January 28th as I attempted to walk into my office building, something went wrong and I fell. And when it was all said and done, I had broken my ankle in five places, requiring surgery to put the pieces back together again. So in other words I shattered my ankle.
And let me tell you.....I am the most miserable I have even been in my entire life. I cry almost every night. Not just from the pains, but from the restless legs syndrome that causes me issues each and every night...begging me to move a leg that is in a cast and can't move. I cry because I can't do anything, I sit here and watch my house go down the drain. Dog and cat hair every where. A thick layer of dust covers every surface. Eddie is overworked now because I am unable to do even the most simple of tasks, so he has to take over everything. And cleaning house isn't on his "priority" list. And I can't say that I blame him. He's tired, he's working full time and then coming home and caring for Keigan and his wife. It's not been easy on him either.
I just wish this had never happened. It's like a nightmare. I hurt all the time. I can't get comfortable. And now I am going back to work next week. And I am freaking out. Am I ready to go back??? How will I cope? Will I be able to handle being so far from home on crutches, without a place to really rest if need be?
I'm just so miserable. I just want my old self back. I want to walk again, normally. I don't want the ugly scars that will be left behind from this surgery. I feel badly for complaining like this over a broken ankle when so many other people have so much more to deal with. But I am just having a very difficult time dealing with this.
I can't wait till I am in a boot and can put weight on my foot. I just hope it's sooner than later. Because I don't know how much more of this hopping around on one foot I can take. I'm just so so so miserable.
